Animated GIFs has been around since the 1980’s and they are making a comeback! These animated GIFs can be used in a lot of ways and they can be featured on blogs and social networks.
More tools have been created focusing on the ease, creativity and fun factor!
Google software developer, Matt Steiner, announced the update on his profile page Wednesday. He noted that GIFs will animate on desktop and mobile devices. The good thing about animated GIFs is that it can be displayed in emails the same way a regular image does. His simple explanation is just “like newspapers in Harry Potter.” Animated GIFs are supported on Tumblr and now on Google+ profile picture!!!
In marketing, animated GIFs have been used to promote a product. Companies like Tiffany & Co, American Apparel, Verizon, have been embracing this in their marketing campaign. According to an A/B test conducted by BlueFly, emails featuring an animated GIF pulled in 12% more revenue than their non-animated version!
